What you can do with NetSight
NetSight's topology graph connects the physical fiber design to monitored devices. Build the hierarchy from an OLT through couplers and splitters to subscriber ONUs, then select a connection to follow its upstream path. A geographic map complements the graph with device positions and fiber routes. The public 3D demonstration illustrates these relationships; the operational workspace provides graph and tree views for your own inventory.
Graph & tree views
Pan and zoom the graph, fit the network into view, search nodes, and collapse or expand distribution branches.
Upstream path tracing
Select an ONU to highlight its ancestors. Filter by OLT root to focus on one part of the network.
Estimated versus measured RX
Compare estimated and real optical power, their difference, distance, and fiber loss where data is available.
Fiber routes & locations
Associate nodes with routes and coordinates. Link inventory devices or identify unlinked equipment.
A connected workflow
- 01Create an OLT root and add couplers, splitters, and subscriber nodes.
- 02Link monitored devices and routes, then enter splitter ratios and relevant loss information.
- 03Select a subscriber and compare its path and optical estimate with the measured signal.
Compatibility & setup
Optical estimates depend on accurate links, splitter ratios, loss inputs, and route data. They assist investigation but do not replace physical measurement. Maps require the deployment's map configuration.
Common questions
Does NetSight have a topology graph, not just a tree?
Yes. The operational topology page opens in graph mode and also offers a tree. The graph supports searching, branch collapse, root filtering, path highlighting, and optical overlays.
Is the public 3D topology my live network?
No. It uses sample devices and readings. Sign in to the operational portal to view your configured network in graph or tree form.
